Adilabad police book 15 for mule accounts in cyber crime probe
Adilabad police booked 15 persons for allegedly operating 74 mule accounts linked to cyber crime complaints, uncovering fraudulent transactions worth Rs 7.01 crore during Operation Crackdown 1.0 and warning the public against misuse of bank accounts

Adilabad: Fifteen persons were booked for allegedly operating 74 mule accounts, linked to complaints lodged on the National Cyber Crimes Portal (NCRP), across the district. Police found funds worth Rs 7.01 crore fraudulently deposited in the accounts during Operation Crackdown 1.0 held in different parts of the district on Saturday.
Briefing details of the operation, SP Akhil Mahajan said that cases were registered against Sherla Rajyavardhan, Petlashri Akshay, Rajender, Shaik Sameer, Avesh Khan, G Aryan Goud, Madavi Ghanshyam, Jadhav Santosh, Suram Ashamma, Suram Vishweshwar, Jakkula Praveen, Rathod Manoj, Jadhav Govardhan and Chavan Gopal from several parts of the district for operating mule accounts.
Police carried out the operation to detect mule accounts through which transactions related to cyber crimes, online betting and gaming applications were suspected to have been made. They urged the public not to allow their relatives and friends to operate their bank accounts, which could lead to misuse. They warned of stern action against those who indulge in financial crimes.
