Adilabad police hold 5K run to mark anti-drug day
Police in Adilabad organised a 5 km run on Friday to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, with over 2,000 youngsters participating from Adilabad and neighbouring districts.

Adilabad: Police organized a 5 km Run to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking here on Friday. Local MLA Payal Shankar was the chief guest, while SP Akhil Mahajan graced the occasion.
Around 2,000 youngsters from different parts of not only Adilabad, but neighbouring Nizamabad and Karimnagar took part in the event. Akhil Mahajan inspired the participants by successfully running the distance. He thanked the youngsters for making the event a grand success. He handed certificates of appreciation to the participants.
Akhil urged everyone to become partners in eradicating the drugs in the district.
He asked the youngsters to stay away from drug consumption and to share information about peddlers with the police. He stated that persons who were addicted to drugs were being identified and treatment would be given to them.
Additional SPs P Mounika, B Surender Rao, Ruthwik Kotte Sai, municipal chairperson Bandari Anusha and others were present.
