Adilabad school water poisoning attempt foiled; No harm to students

Adilabad: Some unidentified persons laced drinking water with some pesticide in an deliberate act to reportedly harm students of a government primary school at Dharmapuri village in Ichoda mandal on Tuesday. However, no casualties were reported with the school remaining closed for three days in a row. The incident came to light on Wednesday.
Sources said that teachers of the school were in a shock when they noticed empty bottles of some pesticide in a classroom of the school. They immediately brought the incident to the notice of local police, averting threat to the lives of the students. They also lodged a complaint with police.
Police inspected the school and found that the water was poisoned by some unknown persons. A case was registered and investigations were taken up.
Meanwhile, parents of the students expressed concern over safety at the school. They requested officials to take steps to prevent such instances in the future.
