Adilabad sees steady surge in Covid cases
The district registered the ever largest spike of the positive cases by seeing 398 cases when swabs of suspected 2,434 patients belonging to several parts of the district were examined

Adilabad: The Covid-19 positive cases in Adilabad district continue to go up even as the authorities concerned created awareness among the public over the disease.
The district registered the ever largest spike of the positive cases by seeing 398 cases when swabs of suspected 2,434 patients belonging to several parts of the district were examined on Monday. It recorded 336 and 294 cases on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. It has 2,104 active cases. While 33 patients were being treated at RIMS-Adilabad, 2,081 were undergoing home isolation.
Boath mandal saw 46 positive cases, followed by Bheemjinayak Thanda which recorded 33 cases. Teachers’ colony of Adilabad registered 26 cases. Jainath mandal’s Akurla village accounted for the highest number of positive cases by 21. Dharmapuri village in Echoda mandal witnessed 17 cases and Echoda mandal saw seven cases. Neradigonda and Gadiguda had five cases each.
According to information provided by authorities of the medical and health department, swabs of 2,81,149 suspected patients were collected so far and of them, and the tally of cumulative positive cases reached 8,307. Results of 270 patients were under pending. As many as 6,149 patients were discharged. The district recorded 54 deaths as on Monday.
The police department began imposing fines against those who do not wear face masks. Mobile teams were deployed for conducting tests to diagnose the infections and the investigations were being organized at 30 centres. RIMS Director Dr B Balaram said that 350 beds and 400 beds equipped with a supply of oxygen were readied for providing treatment to the patients of Covid-19.
