Adilabad tragedy: Youth washes away while fishing, friend survives

A youngster drowned while fishing in a stream at Nishanghat village in Adilabad, while his friend narrowly survived after attempting to rescue him.

Adilabad: A youngster was washed away while another narrowly survived after being swept by strong currents while fishing in a stream at Nishanghat village in Adilabad Rural mandal on Thursday.

According to locals, Shekhar drowned while attempting to catch fish in the swollen stream. His friend, Akash, who attempted to save him, was also swept by the current but managed to swim to safety after being carried a short distance

Police have deployed expert divers to trace Shekhar’s body, which had not been retrieved till the time of reporting.
