Adilabad: Women from Mukhra (K) village have sent postcards to Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and AICC in-charge for Telangana Meenakshi Natarajan demanding that the party implement its six key poll promises.

They also informed Natarajan that they would stage a sit-in in front of Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi’s residences if the party failed to keep the promises.

The women sent letters through the Indian Postal department. In the letters, the women wanted the Congress to fulfil its promises made at the time of polls to Telangana Assembly held in 2023. They mentioned the promises such as provision of financial aid of Rs 2,500 to women aged above 18, a tola of gold to brides, scooters to women graduates, etc.,

The women regretted that the Congress which won the mandate of the public by promising the scheme, was not realizing the promises even after completing 15 months in power.

They alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was misleading the public by pledging to gods. They demanded the Congress to immediately keep the promises in view of International Women’s Day.

Village Sarpanch Gadge Meenakshi and others were present.
