Hyderabad: After a brief hiatus, monsoon returned to the city lashing different parts on Wednesday night.

Heavy rains lashed parts of the city and suburbs in the night. The day, though cloudy for most part, did not have rains but the late night had heavy rains.

The heaviest of rain in the city was reserved for the western parts. The University of Hyderabad surroundings recorded 148.5 mm rain followed by MMTS Lingampally logging in 114 mm.

Chandanagar also had recorded high rainfall at 109.8 mm. Nearby areas also witnessed good rainfall with Gachibowli 81.3 mm, Miyapur 46.3 mm, BHEL 26.3 mm, KPHB 23.3 mm and Rajendranagar 19.3 mm.
