Agency villages getting infra lift: Puvvada Ajay Kumar
Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar inaugurated 2BHK houses at Naramvarigudem in Aswaraopet mandal and at the Dammapet mandal headquarters in Kothagudem district
Kothagudem: The State government has been developing infrastructure and providing basic facilities in agency villages, Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar said.
The Minister, accompanied by Khammam MP Nama Nageswar Rao, inaugurated 2BHK houses at Naramvarigudem in Aswaraopet mandal and at the Dammapet mandal headquarters in Kothagudem district on Monday. He also inaugurated Rythu Vedikas at Aswaraopet and Dammapet.
Each complex of 20 double-bedroom houses was built at Rs 1.26 crore by the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Bhadrachalam. The Minister also laid the foundation stone for roads worth Rs 2.29 crore at Dammapet.
Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating the Mandal Praja Parishad building at Aswaraopet, Ajay Kumar said beneficiaries were being selected transparently for the 2BHK units. The houses had come as a blessing for the poor, and care was taken to ensure quality in the construction and select genuine beneficiaries.
The Minister directed officials to speed up the 2BHK works and finalise beneficiaries. The programme would a continuous process, and all the eligible would be given the houses.
Ajay Kumar said Rythu Vedikas would play a crucial role in future. Besides uniting farmers, they would act as a platform to deliberate and find solutions for farming-related issues.
Nageswar Rao said both 2BHK and Rythu Vedika programmes initiated by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao were unique. “No other State is implementing such programmes,” he said, adding that a healthy environment was being developed in rural areas with the ongoing construction of Palle Prakruthi Vanams, which he felt were adding beauty to the villages.
Zilla Parishad Chairman Koram Kanakaiah, MLC B Lakshminarayana, Aswaraopet MLA M Nageswar Rao, District Collector MV Reddy, ITDA Project Officer P Gowtham, District Library Chairman D Rajender and others were present.
