Hyderabad: Despite mounting criticism over non-implementation of earlier poll promises, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy went on a promise-making spree on Tuesday. He announced sanction of 4,000 Indiramma Houses, implementation of six guarantees and handing over of land for a Muslim burial ground in Jubilee Hills constituency.

Addressing a roadside meeting at Rahmatnagar, Revanth Reddy said his government was sanctioning 3,500 houses for each constituency, but in Jubilee Hills, he was giving 4,000 houses.

“This is my word to you. These houses will be given to the poor and those who have migrated and settled in this constituency”, he said during his campaign.

As usual, the focus of his speech was denouncing the earlier BRS government claiming that whatever development Hyderabad saw was due to the earlier Congress government. “Shilparamam was built by us and Hitec City was built by us. KTR is now taking selfies at these structures,”

Continuing his aggressive stand, he dubbed the BJP candidate as a “donkey” who would lose his deposit in the ensuing bypoll. He charged that the BJP and the BRS had a “Fevicol bond” and cautioned people to be wary of it.

He said his government had asked for a CBI probe into the Kaleshwaram project but even after three months, not even an FIR had been filed.

Similarly, in the Formula E race case, he alleged that former Minister KT Rama Rao had looted Rs 40 crore to 50 crore of public money. He said the government sought Governor’s permission to prosecute him, but there was no approval so far.

He urged people to vote for party candidate Naveen Yadav saying that it would be a vote for Gandhi family.

The newly inducted Minister Mohammed Azharuddin made his maiden political speech, telling voters that voting for the BRS was equivalent to voting for the BJP.

AIMIM MLCs Mirza Rahmath Baig and Mirza Riyaz Ul Hassan Effendi also participated in the campaign programme.

Thanking the Chief Minister for sanctioning Metro Rail to the old city, Mirza Rahmath Baig appealed to the gathering that if they aspired for the development of Jubilee Hills constituency, then they should support the Congress candidate.
