Hyderabad: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has recently rolled out an academic calendar for 2026-27, instructing all technical institutions, including those offering UG engineering programmes, to commence class work for first-year students from August 1.

As per the academic calendar, for the June session, technical institutions can admit students against vacancies up to August 14, and the deadline for lateral entry admission to second-year courses for newly admitted students is also August 14.

Similarly, technical institutions have to complete the first year admissions for the January session by January 19, 2027, and classes for the first year students have to be started on or before January 20, 2027.

As for institutions offering PGDM and PGCM programmes, admissions have been completed by June 30, and the academic session for the newly admitted students should commence on July 1. The deadline for cancelling admission with full refund is June 23.

The institutions offering distance learning or online programmes have been asked to follow the schedule issued by the University Grants Commission.
