AIG chairman Dr Nageshwar Reddy wins Rudolf V Schindler award

Hyderabad: Noted gastroenterologist and chairman of Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG), Dr D Nageshwar Reddy has received the Rudolf V Schindler award in the annual Crystal Award of American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), one of the apex bodies of GI Endoscopy, a press release said.

Named after Dr Schindler, who is widely considered as ‘father of gastroscopy’, the Rudolf V Schindler award is the highest category in the Crystal Awards of ASGE.


“ASGE’s highest honour is given to a member who has accomplishments in endoscopic research, teaching and service to the field of GI Endoscopy exemplified the standards and tradition of Dr Schindler,” ASGE president Dr Klaus Mergener said while presenting the award.

“The award is a testament to all endoscopists worldwide even from the developing nations that hard work and dedication are recognised by Society irrespective of where they work,” Dr Reddy said.

Dr Nageshwar Reddy also expressed gratitude to colleagues and staff at AIG Hospitals for providing quality affordable care, promoting education and research endoscopy.
