Hyderabad: City-based Asian Institute of Gastroenterology (AIG) Hospitals on Friday launched the ZAP-X Gyroscopic Neuro-Radiosurgery Platform for treatment of brain tumors and complex neurological disorders without open surgery.

Designed for intracranial radiosurgery, ZAP-X enables doctors to treat brain lesions with extreme precision without open surgery or incisions. The system delivers focused radiation beams with sub-millimeter accuracy, targeting tumors and abnormal tissues.

For patients, this means a completely non-invasive treatment that is painless, requires no hospital stay and allows them to return to normal life quickly. Chairman, AIG Hospitals, Dr Nageshwar Reddy said, “conditions that once required complex brain surgery can now be treated with extraordinary precision as a day-care procedure and without a single incision”.

The platform is designed to treat a wide range of intracranial conditions, including benign and malignant brain tumors, brain metastases and complex neurological disorders, Dr Subodh Raju, Head, Neurosurgery, AIG Hospitals, said.
