AIMIM gears up for Telangana municipal elections next month
AIMIM is preparing to contest the upcoming municipal elections in Telangana. The party has finalised candidates, plans to contest key municipal corporations and towns, and will begin campaigning soon, focusing on areas where it expects strong electoral performance.

Hyderabad: The All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is gearing up to contest the upcoming municipal elections to be held in Telangana next month.
According to AIMIM sources, the party had already invited applications from party workers desirous of contesting the elections and had conducted the scrutiny of the candidates. “The party had identified suitable candidates and gave them consent to prepare and contest the elections on party ticket. The candidates are filing their nominations across the State,” said the party source.
The party will contest from Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda municipal corporations. In addition, it will field candidates from different municipalities, including Bhainsa, Tandur, Vikarabad, Jagityal and Metpally.
The party has a base in Karimnagar and Nizamabad municipal corporations and has managed to bag the mayor and deputy mayor posts in these two corporations.
“We are focussing more on the municipalities and municipal corporations where there is a good scope of party winning a sizable number of seats. The party leaders, including the MLAs, will start campaigning shortly,” said the party source.
