Hyderabad: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen is gearing up for the upcoming municipal elections expected to be held in October.

The party chief Asaduddin Owaisi had already participated in a marathon of various infrastructure development inauguration programs in the Charminar and Yakutpura constituencies recently. He inaugurated works valued at over Rs 10 crore in the two constituencies in just three days.

The AIMIM is hopeful of increasing its tally in all three municipal commissionerates. The GHMC was trifurcated into Cyberabad Municipal Corporation, Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation with around 300 seats.

After the trifurcation, there is scope for the AIMIM party to win more seats across the GHMC, MMC and the CMC. “In all three corporations, the AIMIM party has good presence. The AIMIM seats will go up in GHMC, and also it will be a good show for the party in the CMC and the MCC,” said a party source.

The party during the last municipal elections had won 44 seats.

The AIMIM leaders are also taking the opportunity to meet the voters one-to-one and explain to them about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and ensure they get their names included in the Voter list.

The party MLAs are accompanying Asaduddin Owaisi during his visits. Also moving around are the corporator ticket aspirants.
