Hyderabad: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has appointed Bahadurpura MLA Mohammed Mubeen as the party’s in-charge of the Rajendranagar Assembly constituency.
In an official announcement, the party authorised Mubeen to represent AIMIM and undertake organisational activities in the constituency. Party office-bearers and members in Rajendranagar have been asked to coordinate with him on organisational matters.
The appointment comes days after AIMIM expelled its MLC Mirza Rahmath Baig following a controversy surrounding a purported video and directed him to resign as an MLC.
Baig had contested the 2023 Assembly elections from Rajendranagar on an AIMIM ticket but was defeated by BRS candidate T Prakash Goud. He was subsequently appointed as the AIMIM in-charge of the constituency.
The latest appointment is being seen as a move by the party to put its organisational affairs in Rajendranagar under new leadership following Baig’s expulsion.
