New Delhi: Air India Express on Thursday said that it has restored connectivity across its entire West Asia network by resuming services to Salalah in Oman and Kuwait, further strengthening air links between India and the Gulf region.

The airline said flights on the Kozhikode–Salalah route resumed from July 2, while services between Kozhikode and Kuwait will restart from July 3. Flights connecting Bengaluru and Kuwait are scheduled to resume from July 4, with frequencies set to increase in phases over the coming days.

The Kozhikode–Salalah route will initially operate twice a week. Meanwhile, the Kozhikode–Kuwait service will begin with one weekly flight from July 3 before expanding to three weekly services from July 5.

With the resumption of Salalah operations, Air India Express will now serve two airports in Oman — Muscat International Airport and Salalah International Airport.

The airline has also reinstated flights between Muscat and Mangaluru from July 3. Air India Express currently operates around 40 weekly flights from Muscat to seven destinations across India.

The Bengaluru–Kuwait service will start with one weekly flight from July 4 and increase to three weekly flights from July 7. The airline said all its Kuwait-bound and Kuwait-originating services will operate from Terminal 4 at Kuwait International Airport.

Passengers can book tickets through the airline’s official website, mobile application and other major booking platforms.

With operations to 13 destinations across Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, Air India Express continues to expand its presence in the West Asia market. The airline currently operates around 780 weekly flights between India and the region, connecting 18 Indian cities directly with Gulf destinations.

In recent weeks, the carrier has also launched new services on routes including Navi Mumbai–Abu Dhabi, Guwahati–Abu Dhabi, Guwahati–Dubai, Bengaluru–Phuket and Pune–Amritsar, further expanding its domestic and international network.

Following these additions, Air India Express will operate around 415 weekly flights from Bengaluru, connecting the city with 30 domestic and seven international destinations. From Kozhikode, the airline now operates around 85 weekly flights, linking the city with Bengaluru and 13 destinations across West Asia.
