Akshayakalpa Organic adopts Peeran Cheruvu Lake, removes 3,200 kg of plastic in clean-up drive

Peeran Cheruvu Lake, cherished for its scenic beauty, short hiking paths, and significance to local fishermen, has been increasingly affected by plastic pollution and environmental decline. In response, Akshayakalpa Organic engaged its team and partnered with the local community to clear around 3,200 kilograms of plastic waste, greatly enhancing the lake’s overall condition.

Hyderabad: Akshayakalpa Organic has adopted 35-acre Peeran Cheruvu Lake, PBEL City, Hyderabad, for its ecological restoration. For the past five-months, as part of this initiative, the company has been holding a monthly ‘Peeran Cheruvu Lake Clean-Up’ drive, which improved the lake’s health and reduced plastic waste, a press release from the company said.

The Peeran Cheruvu Lake, known for its picturesque views, short hiking trails, and support for local fishermen, has faced growing plastic pollution and gradual environmental degradation. To combat this, Akshayakalpa Organic mobilized its workforce and collaborated with the local community to successfully remove approximately 3,200 kilograms of plastic waste, significantly improving the lake’s condition.

Each clean-up event has witnessed enthusiastic participation, including volunteers from NGOs, the Hyderabad Cyclers Group, the GHMC, and local residents from PBEL City, who have joined hands with Akshayakalpa’s staff to restore the lake’s natural beauty.
