Hydrerabad: The 27th All India Crafts Mela held at Shilparamam, Madhapur, was inaugurated by Minister for Tourism & Culture, Sports and Youth Services, Srinivas Goud here on Wednesday.
The Minister also inaugurated a series of cultural programmes that have been lined up for the event and present on the occasion were Special Officer, Kishan Rao and General Manager, Anjaiah along with Shilparamam staff and artists.
Apart from Adilabad district folk dance Gussadi, disciples of Nishrinkala Dance Academy guru Sandhya Raju performed a Kuchipudi dance which enthralled the large audience that gathered at Shilparamam.
The Telangana government is promoting handloom artisans and more melas will be held to encourage them and help sell their products in different places. The Development Commissioner, Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles and National Jute Board, had sponsored the national awardees, a press release said.
