Despite the measures, there was a slight increase in Covid positive cases in areas like Kotakonda and Gundimal areas since many natives were returning from Maharashtra, the Collector said during a video conference with Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Thursday.
As per the government instructions, fever survey was being intensified in such areas. Medical kits were being distributed to people who test positive. “Those who do not have home isolation facility are were being shifted to Government isolation centres,” she informed.
Covid care centres have already been set up at Kotakonda and Krishna mandals, she said, adding that with the district sharing boundaries with Karnataka, this was aiding in spread of the virus. The lockdown was being strictly implemented and Covid-19 testing was intensified, she added.
