Khammam: The State government has taken all measures to contain the spread of Covid-19 and to provide quality treatment to the patients, stated Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar. The minister accompanied by the ZP Chairman L Kamal Raju, MLC Tata Madhusudhan and MLA L Ramulu Naik monitored and participated in the ongoing door-to-door fever survey in 56th municipal division on Tuesday.
Ajay Kumar interacted with the residents and tested the fever of the locals. Speaking on the occasion he directed health officials to take special steps to provide treatment to Covid patients at Government Area Hospitals in the district. Similarly the medical and health officials have to be fully geared up to offer treatment to Covid patients at Government District Headquarters Hospital, at all the Primary Health Centres and Urban Health Centres with all facilities.
There was no shortage for Covid testing kits or home isolation kits as the government made elaborate measures to protect people from Covid-19, its variants delta and omicron. Khammam district at top place in the State by completing 100 percent vaccination. While suggesting that the fever survey has to be carried out effectively, Ajay Kumar wanted the health officials to ensure better treatment to those who were tested positive to Covid or its variants.
Steps must be taken to ensure non-Covid health services would not be hindered. Health, municipal and panchayat raj departments and elected members have to make collective efforts to tackle the crisis. Officials have to educate the public about the present Covid situation, he said. The minister earlier in the day, inaugurated newly laid CC roads in different municipal divisions and a welcome arch at Puvvada Ajay Nagar. He handed over a financial assistance of Rs 10, 000 to 49 families whose houses were damaged due to recent rains.
District Collector VP Gautham, Municipal Commissioner Adarsh Surabhi, Mayor P Neeraja, DCC Bank Chairman K Nagabhushanam, SUDA Chairman B Vijay Kumar, TRS leader Gundala Krishna and others were present.
