Allani Kishan Rao’s fight against pollution remembered
Noted environmentalist Prof K Purushottam Reddy recalled how Dr Kishan Rao took the struggles of Patancheru citizens to various platforms to get justice to the people.

Sangareddy: Environmentalists recalled how they led a fight against pollution under the leadership of well-known environmentalist Dr Allani Kishan Rao, who passed away on September 1.
Addressing a meeting organised in his memory in Patancheru on Sunday, noted environmentalist Prof K Purushottam Reddy recalled how Dr Kishan Rao took the struggles of Patancheru citizens to various platforms to get justice to the people.
Prof Reddy said that they had ensured the closure of the 20 most polluted industries apart from fighting for free Manjeera water supply to residents of the Patancheru area. He said that Dr Kishan Rao led the movement from the front after resigning his job as a government doctor.
Prof Donthi Narasimha Reddy said that the people of Patancheru were still facing a lot of issues that they needed to fight collectively.
