Allu Arjun released from Chanchalguda jail after completion of formalities

Allu Arjun, who was released from Chanchalguda jail on Saturday morning was assigned an Under Trial (UT) number 7697 and was lodged in a barrack by the jail authorities. A controversy is brewing over his delayed his release despite the court granting a bail to him on Friday evening.

Hyderabad: Actor Allu Arjun was released from Central Prison Chanchalguda on Saturday morning. He reached his house and met the family members. Due to security issues the jail authorities sent him from the back side gate of the Central Prison Chanchalguda complex.

The actor had to spend the night in Central Prison Chanchalguda after the jail authorities did not release him citing a delay in furnishing bail documents in time.  The jail authorities accommodated Allu Arjun in Manjeera Baraack in the jail.

He was issued a UT (under trail) number 7697. All the details of Allu Arjun were recorded in the jail records.

The actor was arrested by Chikkadpally police in connection with the death of a woman in a stampede at Sandhya 70 mm theatre on December 4 during the premiere show of Pushpa 2 movie starring Allu Arjun.

He went to the theatre to watch the movie when the incident took place. After his arrest on Friday, the police produced the actor in court. The court sent him to 14 day judicial remand and he was shifted to Central Prison Chanchalguda in evening.

The High Court had granted him interim bail in the case. However the documents were not submitted in time at the jail and due to delay the actor was not released.

However, Ashok Reddy, senior advocate who represented Allu Arjun in High Court denied reports of delay and said all the documents were furnished in time. “Still Allu Arjun was not released for reasons know to jail authorities. It amounts to contempt of court,” said Ashok Reddy has said last night.
