Hyderabad: With a few hours left for the much-awaited movie ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ to hit screens worldwide, the Telangana government has permitted the theatre owners to run an additional fifth show for the Allu Arjun starrer for the coming two weeks.
The development came as a boon for the makers. Major theatres and single screens including multiplexes in Telangana have hiked the ticket prices. With Icon Star Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa’ releasing in theatres on Friday and advance booking trend seems to be very encouraging. This apart, the benefit shows in some parts have been raking in good money for producers.
Contrast to what’s happening in Telangana, the decision to hike prices in Andhra Pradesh is left with the Joint Collectors. Following the single bench’s verdict to allow theatre owners to hike ticket prices, the State government moved to the division bench and sought a stay on the suspension of GO 35 (reduction of ticket fares). Subsequently, the court ordered the government to constitute a committee to decide upon the prices. It further said that joint collectors would decide on the ticket prices.
