Hyderabad: Telugu star Allu Arjun’s movie Pushpa: The Rise, which is all set for a theatrical release on Friday is facing the ire of netizens as the #BoycottPushpainKarnataka is trending on twitter.
The hashtag, seeking people to boycott the Sukumar directorial is trending a day ahead of its release, as distributors of the movie are releasing the Telugu version in Karnataka upsetting several fans.
Allu Arjun fans in Karnataka took to twitter saying that they were not against Telugu or Telugu people to be boycotting the film, but in fact, irked by the distributers choosing to release the Telugu version in the State instead of the Kanadda version.
“Dear telugu people , we are not against Pushpa movie or telugu movies but when it comes to karnataka , Kannada version should be at the top , love from Alli Arjun fan ! no one is above Kannada ! #BoycottPushpaInKarnataka (Sic),” twitter user @NMocktail tweet.
Replying to the tweet, a Telugu person staying in Bengaluru wrote “As a telugu guy but staying in Bangalore I purely support our kannadigas either it may any language film it should be release in our Kannada in our Karnataka”
