Amberpet police bust Bengaluru-based fake job racket, arrest four
Amberpet police busted a Bengaluru-based fake job racket that allegedly cheated unemployed youth by offering bogus software jobs and forged appointment letters. Four persons were arrested, and police suspect nearly 40 victims may have been duped in the large-scale cyber fraud.
Hyderabad: A Bengaluru based cybercrime racket that allegedly cheated job aspirants by promising software jobs has been busted by the Amberpet Police leading to the arrest of four persons.
According to the police, the prime suspect Krithik (34), had set up a fake consultancy firm in Bengaluru and used Facebook and WhatsApp to lure unemployed youth with fake software job offers.
Police said Krithik recruited Kishore, Sai and Preeti to work for the racket. The suspects allegedly collected Rs 2.30 lakh from a woman named Priya, a resident of Bagh Amberpet, and issued forged appointment letters.
Based on the victim’s complaint, police detained Kishore alias Manjunath and seized Rs 2 lakh cash along with SIM cards.
Further investigation into the SIM card data led police to the remaining suspects including Sai, Preeti, Vemula Shankar of Piduguralla, Sai
Ashok of Palnadu district and Gopikrishna from Guntur.
Police suspect that nearly 40 victims were cheated by the gang and that the fraud amount could run into several lakhs of rupees.
