Hyderabad: Velamati Chandrasekhar Janardhan Rao, who was allegedly murdered by his grandson Keerthi Teja, over property disputes, at Somajiguda two days ago was a noted industrialist.
Popular known as VC Janardhana Rao, he hailed from Eluru district of Andhra Pradesh, and had shifted to the city and was staying at bungalow at Somajiguda. He was the Chairman/Managing Director at Veljan Denison Limited.
The company, Veljan, was founded in 1965. According to company website, it specialises in providing comprehensive solutions across various sectors including shipbuilding, energy, mobile, and industrial segments. It also has an office in Oakwood, United States.
Janardhan Rao was well known for his charitable contributions in the field of health care, education and also donated huge sums to temples. His significant contributions are donations to Government General Hospital in Eluru and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.
He also donated amount to different hospitals in Hyderabad.
