Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister, Gangula Kamalakar on Tuesday said Andhra political parties were trying to re-enter Telangana State.
As part of their strategy, Y S Sharmila, sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, is likely to launch a political party in Telangana, the Minister said, participating in a membership drive at Ashok Nagar here.
“After Sharmila, Jagan Mohan Reddy and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu will also enter the State. Telangana water and power would be diverted to AP if they succeeded in entering Telangana,” he said, adding that Telangana was neglected for 70 years in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. However, massive development took place in the past six and half years including completion of irrigation projects. “Parched lands have turned into green fields with the completion of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme. Unable to digest the development, Andhra leaders are trying to re-enter Telangana,” he said.
Also said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will be the only person who could protect the State from Andhra leaders as well as political parties. Hence, there is need to strengthen TRS during the membership drive in a big way, he added.
