Andhra Pradesh: 100 US doctors for Vizag global summit from January 6

As part of the summit, free HPV vaccine would be administered to 100 women in the age group of nine to 27 years to control cervical cancer at MG Cancer Hospital.

Visakhapatnam: At least 100 doctors from the US and another 400 eminent doctors from all over India, will participate in the three-day global summit to be held at Novotel hotel in the city from January 6.

Informing this to media persons here on Wednesday, former Vice-Chancellor of Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences T. Raviraju said the summit would be held under the aegis of NRI from the US Ravi Kolli. Already free medical camps were held at 19 places by the organisers.

As part of the summit, free HPV vaccine would be administered to 100 women in the age group of nine to 27 years to control cervical cancer at the Mahatma Gandhi Cancer Hospital in MVP Colony in the city and the second dose of the vaccine would be given after six months, he announced.

Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Governor of Telangana and Puduchcherry Tamilisai, AP health ministe Vidadala Rajani and others would attend the programme Dr. Raviraju said.

Dr. Radhika of the organisers revealed that Dr. Meghana and Dr. Raja from the US would organise a workshop of women’s health issues also. NEET chairman Dr. Abhijit Singh, WHO Chief Scientist and ICMR former Director General Dr. Soumya Swaminathan and others would attend, she said.
