Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Cabinet which met here on Friday approved construction of 28.3 lakh houses along with distribution of 30 lakh house-sites which is slated for December 25.
It also approved distribution of 2.49 lakh sheep units on December 8, draft bills to be tabled in the Assembly, acquisition of 105 acres of land for the Kurupam JNTU engineering college, and 2019 kharif free crop insurance scheme, besides the AP Fisheries University bill.
Talking to media persons after the Cabinet meeting, Agriculture minister K. Kannababu said the Nivar cyclone was also discussed. “Agri crops on 30,000 hectares and horticulture on 1300 hectares were damaged by the cyclone. Our Chief Minister has directed payment of compensation to crops by December 30. Also, over 10,000 persons were shifted to relief camps and they would be paid Rs.500 each,” he said.
