Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) added another feather to its cap on Friday winning the second place in a competition held by the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), in the best communication campaign (external) category.
Government and private establishments including Larsen and Toubro, National Mineral Development Corporation, ITC Limited, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Bharat Petroleum, National Thermal Power Corporation and other establishments with pan-India presence participated in the competition and HMWS&SB secured second place, the water board said in a press release. This year the PRSI 2021 award function will be held virtually on December 28.
The awareness campaign to avail the Free Drinking Water Scheme for Hyderabad, workshops/awareness campaigns to safeguard the life and health of workers involved in maintaining the sewerage network in the city and safety workshops for the septic tank cleaners were the primary reason for winning the award said, a board official. At the workshops/ campaigns, the workers were briefed about Do’s and Don’ts to be followed while doing works related to sewerage management.
HMWS&SB Managing Director Dana Kishore expressed his happiness on winning the award and congratulated the officials and staffers who worked towards it.
Meanwhile, he also held a meeting on Friday and said the works pertaining to drinking water pipelines especially near Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP) need to be taken up on a war footing.
