Hyderabad: The hospitalisation of another Gurukul student in Nalgonda district after a snake bite has sparked outrage, with former Minister T Harish Rao launching a scathing attack on the Congress government.
He blamed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for neglecting basic facilities in Gurukuls, putting the lives of students in danger despite repeated incidents.
“Under the Congress rule, children are fighting for their lives in hospitals instead of studying in classrooms,” he said.
He reminded the people about the rising cases of dog bites, rat bites and now snake bites in Gurukuls.
Harish criticised Revanth Reddy for his lack of foresight in key departments, including education and welfare.
“Despite overseeing education, SC, ST and minority welfare, the Chief Minister has never conducted a review meeting. He is neglecting the pleas of students for hygienic and quality food, teachers, quality education and basic facilities in Gurukuls. His negligence has led to the deaths of 42 students in just 11 months,” he said.
Further, he demanded immediate action to improve the conditions in Gurukuls, warning that continued inaction could result in further loss of lives.
