Hyderabad: Intensifying her campaign for the installation of a statue of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule in the State Legislative Assembly premises, BRS leader and MLC K Kavitha on Tuesday said it was not artificial intelligence that was hurting the BCs or students or the University of Hyderabad, but “Anumula Intelligence’.

Launching the BC Deeksha, a day long hunger strike, at the Dharna Chowk here to press for the statue, Kavitha, who has been leading the movement along with Telangana Jagruti and the United Phule Front (UPF), emphasized the importance of Jyotirao Phule as a beacon of social justice and inspiration and demanded the government to respond with a positive decision by April 11, Phule’s birth anniversary. She wanted the statue of Phule to be installed alongside that of Ambedkar on the Assembly premises. Students from different universities also took part in the protest.

Earlier, referring to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy‘s allegation that AI was being increasingly used to defame the government in the Kancha Gachibowli issue, Kavitha criticized the misuse of artificial intelligence by the government in studies related to reservations, calling it a diversion from addressing the real issues. She highlighted political manipulation and accused certain forces of misleading caste census efforts, thereby denying justice to the Backward Classes.

Kavitha pointed out the transparency of the BRS government, which had made the comprehensive family survey details public, contrasting it with the Congress and BJP’s failure to do so. She called for efforts to mount pressure on the BJP to clarify its stance on caste census and reservations, offering to collaborate with other parties to bring the issue to the forefront. She also questioned the status of bills passed by the legislature, demanding clarity on whether they were pending with the Governor or were sent to the President.

Kavitha criticized the Congress for staging superficial protests in Delhi and urged for meaningful action, including indefinite protests if necessary.

Reiterating her commitment to the cause, Kavitha emphasized the significance of Phule’s legacy, noting his contributions to women’s education and the fight against caste discrimination. She said the installation of Phule’s statue in the Assembly would serve as a source of inspiration for society and vowed to continue the struggle despite obstacles.
