Visakhapatnam: The Vizag Steel Plant Protection Committee has called for a `Chalo Steel plant’ on March 20.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of its joint action committee with trade union and people’s organisations’ leaders here on Wednesday.
The meeting called for organising dharnas on March 23 and 24 and also take part in the all-India Bharat Bandh to protest the farm bills and other anti-people programmes of the Modi government.
Besides, relay fasts would be organised from March 30 in front of the Gandhi statue opposite the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation main building and awareness campaign to be taken up to involve the people in the movement to protect the steel plant, the meeting resolved.
