AP: Four arrested in Polamamba temple theft case

Visakhapatnam: The city police have nabbed four thieves in connection with the burglary at Sri Kakachettu Polamamba temple in Peda Waltair about ten days ago.

According to information, a father and his two sons have been visiting the city in connection with a case for some time. Meanwhile, they got an idea of committing some theft. They conducted a recce at the Polamamba temple the previous day and stole gold ornaments weighing 412 gm by breaking the hundi. They had also disconnected the CCTV cameras before the burglary.

However, police, who took a serious view of the crime in the wake of several controversies taking place with regard to temples in the State, investigated on basis of some clues left by the criminals. They even kept a watch over the movements of the trio in Chennai and
arrested them, along with another who was also said to be involved in the crime.
