Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh has no connection whatsoever with the heroin seized in Gujarat recently, Director General of Police Gautam Sawang clarified here on Thursday.

Talking to reporters, he said that the case was being investigated by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Narcotics Control.

The accused had only used Vijayawada for address but did all transactions with Chennai as the centre, he stated.

The DGP also said it was not proper to launch a false campaign saying that the incident occurred near the CM’s office.

While condemning the remarks of political leaders, he stated that they were misleading the public and creating a sense of insecurity.

The state police would extend cooperation to the investigating teams, he added.
