The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has dismantled a large-scale clandestine synthetic drug manufacturing facility in Kondapalli, NTR District, under 'Operation White Hammer'.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar said drug offenders will be monitored like history sheeters. The city police are strengthening H-NEW with new teams and conducting monthly inter-agency meetings to track drug networks, foreign national involvement and courier-based smuggling.

A male passenger arriving from Kuwait was apprehended at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport for smuggling 1.8 kg of gold concealed in his baggage. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized seven gold bars worth approximately Rs 2.37 crore.

In Hyderabad, a rising number of women are being arrested for smuggling hydroponic ganja, lured by the promise of big money from drug cartels. In two separate incidents at RGI Airport in the past fortnight, women were caught carrying large quantities of the substance, having traveled through international routes such as Dubai and Bangkok.

The DRI Hyderabad unit apprehended a woman arriving from Bangkok at RGI Airport carrying 13.3 kg of hydroponic ganja valued at approximately Rs. 13.3 crore. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the broader network involved in this case.

Acting on information, the sleuths stopped a car that was on its way to the city from Coimbatore. On checking, it was found they were carrying foreign origin smuggled gold by concealing it in a specially made cavity below the handbrake in the car.

A Directorate of Revenue Intelligence release said eight persons were arrested in this connection, including five women comprising four Kenyans and a Tanzanian who were used as carriers of the smuggled gold
