Hyderabad: The Madhapur police on Thursday arrested Sanjush Lingamaneni, son of a Rajya Sabha MP from AP, for causing the death of a woman in an accident while driving a car three days ago. His father, Lingamaneni Ramesh, is an MP from the Janasena party.

The victim, Bharathi Mukhi (26), and her colleague, Pooja Ashok (26), had gone to the vicinity of ITC Kohinoor around 3 p.m. to bring lunch. While returning to Inorbit Mall, Bharathi was crossing the road in front of the mall when an Aston Martin, allegedly being driven at high speed and in a negligent manner by Sanjush, hit her.

Bharathi suffered severe bleeding injuries to her head. She was immediately shifted to a hospital in the same vehicle. However, doctors who examined her declared that she had already died.

The police registered a case and started an investigation.
