Hyderabad: Apollo Hospitals on Wednesday announced the launch of Apollo Centre of Excellence in Critical Care (ACECC) in Hyderabad, an integrated network of eICUs across the Apollo Hospitals network.
The ACECC hubs will enable wider and timely access to critical care and standardise management and treatment in critical medical situations. At present, there is a hub in Hyderabad that monitors 500 beds and next week, two more hubs at Chennai and Madurai will come-up that will monitor 500 beds. In due course, similar hubs will come-up at Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ahmadabad with the aim of monitoring close to 10,000 beds by the year end, officials from Apollo Hospitals said.
In virtual interaction with press persons, Dr. Prathap C Reddy, Chairman, Apollo Hospitals Group said that the ACECCs will transform critical care in the country. They will comprise digital technology-enabled Critical Care Units (CCUs) that will enable expansion of the critical care network through e-ICUs using tele-health.
Dr Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Group said the ACECC will oversee an integrated critical care network across many hubs.
Preetha Reddy, Executive Vice Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals Groups, Suneeta Reddy, Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Group, Dr. K. Hari Prasad, president, Hospitals Division, Apollo Hospitals Enterprises and other senior doctors were present in the virtual meet.
