Hyderabad: Apollo Hospitals Group on Wednesday announced collaboration with ‘The Clinic by Cleveland Clinic’, to launch international second opinion services for its patients. The initiative will ensure patients get best healthcare, Joint Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Group, Dr Sangita Reddy, said.

Doctors at Apollo Hospitals will be able to collaborate with experts at Cleveland Clinic to review complex cases and devise the appropriate treatment plan. Dr Anupam Sibal, Group Medical Director at Apollo Hospitals, said, “the association aims to bring together world class medical and surgical opinions”.

Frank McGillin, CEO, The Clinic by Cleveland Clinic, said the collaboration will help empower Indian patients to work closely with their physician at Apollo Hospitals who can tap into the expertise of Cleveland Clinic’s physicians, a press release said.

The medical records of patients, who are interested in getting a second opinion from international doctor, will be shared with The Cleveland Clinic and a conference call will be scheduled between the international medical expert and doctors at Apollo Hospitals in the presence of the patient.

The international doctor will share insights in the form of a written opinion with the doctor at Apollo Hospitals, who will further discuss and decide the best course of treatment for the patient.
