Hyderabad: On the occasion of International Urogynecology Day, Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad launched ‘Sakhi’ campaign and a dedicated urogynecology clinic for women seeking timely and specialised care for pelvic health problems.

The new facility will lay focus on women suffering from conditions such as urine leakage, involuntary loss of stools, repeated urinary infections, vaginal bulge due to prolapse, pelvic pain and intimacy-related concerns. Often, such health issues are dismissed as a normal part of aging or childbirth, leading to delayed treatment and avoidable distress.

Sakhi clinic, led by Senior Urogynecologist Dr Nirmala Papalkar and Dr Shreeja Gurrala, aims to provide confidential and expert care under one roof. The all-women team ensures privacy and comfort, and even offers telephone consultations for those hesitant to visit in person, a press release said.
