Hyderabad: Over 650 families of the gated community APR Pranav Antilia in Bachupally held a protest on Sunday against the demolition of their boundary wall by the Hyderabad Disaster Management and Asset Protection Agency (Hydraa).

President of the Antilia Welfare Association, Mahesh Reddy Gandikota, described the demolition of the community’s boundary wall by Hydraa on June 24 as unlawful.

“The boundary, wall constructed as per the HMDA-approved layout, was demolished without any prior notice, causing panic among the 650 families living in the community. Hydraa did not respond to the petitions submitted by the residents,” he said.

The gated community spans 46 acres and includes over 650 villas, a 60-ft main road, and internal infrastructure with all amenities.

According to him, some people spread false claims regarding a 100-feet road passing through Antilia’s survey numbers (39, 40, 38, 37, and 36), which was approved by HMDA. Based on this false information, and without verifying the facts, Hydraa demolished the boundary wall.

“As residents of the gated community, we are demanding that the Hydraa Commissioner, AV Ranganath, restore the demolished boundary wall,” he said.

Families, including women and children, took part in the protest, holding placards and said they will have no other option but to go on a relay hunger strike if the Hydraa ignores their demand.
