Hyderabad: Israel-based Cloud security provider Aqua Security announced on Wednesday the completion of $135 million in Series E funding led by ION Crossover Partners, putting its valuation in excess of $1 billion. The round includes participation from Aqua’s existing investors, including M12 – Microsoft’s venture fund, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Insight Partners, TLV Partners, Greenspring Associates, and Acrew Capital.
The company’s India centre in Hyderabad has over 50 employees and the company plans to double its investments in India in 2021. The number of employees will also double in this year and will become 20 per cent of the overall global workforce, said a company statement.
Aqua Security’s total funding since its founding in 2015 now stands at $265 million and it has enabled enterprises adopting technologies to accelerate their business. In 2020, the company has doubled the number of paying customers has half a dozen customers with an ARR of over $1 million each and published cyber research on the rise of sophisticated, organized attacks that target the container supply chain.
