Hyderabad: Five senior scientists of International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI), Hyderabad, have been featured among the top two per cent of scientists in a global list compiled by the researchers from prestigious Stanford University.
A total of 1,492 Indians have found a place in the exhaustive list which comprised 1,59,683 scientists from across the globe.
ARCI’s Prof. G. Sundararajan, Dr. Tata Narasinga Rao, Dr.Ibram Ganesh, Dr. N. Rajalakshmi (all four featured for the second consecutive time), and Dr. R. Subasri are the part of the list, representing fields like materials, energy and applied physics. The list features the top two per cent of the most-cited scientists in various disciplines in the world.
Stanford University created a publicly available database of 100,000 top-scientists that provides standardized information on number of publications, citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted Hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator.
The Stanford – Elsevier reports were published recently and they have been classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields in the report.
