Army jawan gets 10-year jail term for duping woman in Asifabad
A sessions court in Kumram Bheem Asifabad sentenced Army jawan Mohanand Sarkar to 10 years in prison and fined him Rs. 25,000 for cheating and sexually exploiting a woman in 2019 under the false promise of marriage.

Kumram Bheem Asifabad: A district sessions court here on Thursday sentenced an Army jawan to 10 years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs.25,000 for cheating a woman under the pretext of marriage six years ago.
Judge MV Ramesh awarded the sentence to Mohanand Sarkar of Easgaon village in Kagaznagar, holding him guilty of sexually exploiting the woman in 2019 after promising to marry her. The court examined 10 eyewitnesses and reviewed material evidence before pronouncing the verdict.
Superintendent of Police Kanthilal Patil commended Kagaznagar DSP Ramanujam, Rural Inspector Kumaraswamy, and Easgaon Sub-Inspector Kalyan for their efforts in securing the conviction.
