Mahabubabad: An Army jawan, Mood Naveen, a native of Giripuram village in Maripeda mandal of Mahabubabad district, has reportedly gone missing, leaving his family in deep distress.

According to family members, Naveen had joined the Army five years ago and was posted in New Delhi. He had come home on leave recently after his wife underwent surgery due to illness.

Following her recovery, Naveen informed his family that he was returning to Delhi to resume duty. However, instead of heading to the capital, he reportedly travelled towards Srisailam in a car from Hyderabad on Saturday. His mobile phone was switched off soon after.

It is said that Naveen contacted one of his relatives, told him not to search for him, and urged him to take care of his children. The car he was travelling in was later found abandoned near the Srisailam dam. A bottle of pesticide and his mobile phone were recovered from the vehicle by locals.

Speaking to the media on Monday, Naveen’s wife Saritha said that Army officials in New Delhi were informed of his disappearance and had assured her of their support in tracing him. She appealed to the government to assist in locating her missing husband.

Naveen’s family has lodged a complaint with the Eagalpenta police in Nagarkurnool district. Meanwhile, Maripeda police visited the family’s home to gather further information.
