Kamareddy: An army sepoy from Kamareddy has been missing since August 29. The 28-year-old sepoy Naveen Kumar, a resident of Timmakpally in Kamareddy mandal, came on leave on August 4 from Jodhpur, where he was posted. On August 29, Naveen’s brother Nithin dropped him at the new bus station in Kamareddy to take a bus to Hyderabad and onward return journey to Jodhpur.
After Naveen boarded a bus for Hyderabad around 12.30 am on August 30, Nithin returned home. Naveen’s two mobile phones were switched off when the family members called him in the morning. Since then, there has been no contact with Naveen.
The family members enquired with their relatives and Naveen’s friends but drew a blank about his whereabouts. They enquired with army officials in Jodhpur, again to no avail. On Saturday evening, Naveen’s mother Mannemma lodged a complaint with the Kamareddy town police, who booked a case and are trying to trace Naveen.
Kamareddy town police said that Naveen’s family members advised him to postpone his journey to Jodhpur because of health issues he had. He, however, did not heed their advice and left home to return to Jodhpur.
The police, quoting family members, said Naveen was suffering from psychological problems.
