Hyderabad: Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad, has been attracting several generous donors, who are keen on adopting animals and birds there. On Tuesday, A Krishna Murthy, an 83-year-old Army veteran, has come forward to adopt a male Asiatic Lion.
Speaking on the occasion, VVL Subhadra Devi, curator, Nehru Zoological Park thanked Krishna Murthy for showing keen interest in adopting the animal. The money will be spent on the food and well-being of the animal.
Expressing his commitment towards conservation of wild animals, Krishna Murthy said that he hoped many other citizens will extend a helping hand to the institution to keep the animals healthy.
Krishna Murthy paid a sum of Rs 15,000 to the zoological park for adoption of the big cat for a period of 54 days.
