Hyderabad: As the Congress government completes 1,000 days in office, a few ruling party MLAs are facing tough questions in their constituencies, with people seeking answers on unfulfilled promises and basic amenities.

While Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy faced questions over the crop loan waiver, Jadcherla MLA J Anirudh Reddy had a difficult time when women complained about the lack of drinking water in their village.

Rajgopal Reddy visited Anthampet in his constituency and interacted with villagers. During the interaction, a woman confronted the MLA and questioned him about the pending crop loan waiver promised by the Congress government.

Despite the government’s claims of waiving crop loans of up to Rs 2 lakh, several farmers have been complaining that their loans are yet to be waived.

“Is crop loan waiver implemented only for a few people? What about farmers whose loans are yet to be waived?” the woman asked the MLA in a video that is circulating on social media.

Another woman joined her and said that neither the Chief Minister nor the MLA was waiving the loans.

Responding to her, Rajgopal Reddy asked, “Does the MLA have money?”

The woman shot back, “Unless the MLA signs, the crop loan will not be waived.”

The MLA then explained that legislators’ approval was not required for crop loan waiver and that the Chief Minister was responsible for waiving the loans.

Similarly, women from Kuntlapur Thanda under Gangadharpalli village stopped Jadcherla MLA Anirudh Reddy’s vehicle on the outskirts of the village, according to reports.

The women complained of a severe drinking water crisis and said they had to walk long distances to fetch water.

Responding to their complaint, Anirudh Reddy assured them that he would resolve the drinking water issue within a few days.

Following the MLA’s assurance, the women allowed his vehicle to pass through the village, reports said.
