As Telangana receives heavy spells of rain, IMD warns of more downpours
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast light to moderate rains in Hyderabad for the next 24–48 hours, with isolated heavy to extremely heavy rainfall expected in northern districts like Kumuram Bheem Asifabad and Adilabad due to a weakening depression moving from Odisha.

Hyderabad: An active southwest monsoon has resulted in rains lashing various parts of the state with heavy spells recorded in Mulugu and Kumaram Bheem districts.
The incessant rain overnight on Monday in several parts of Hyderabad and surrounding districts ceased on Tuesday morning, though the skies remained cloudy and threatened to open up anytime during the day.
Some parts of the city received spells of rain today and till 5 pm, the heaviest of the rain spell was recorded at Mailardevpalli with 9.5 mm.
The India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad in its forecast on Tuesday predicted generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain in the city for the next 24 to 48 hours.
The weather department’s assessment pointed out that the depression over south coastal Odisha yesterday had moved west-northwestwards and is likely to weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area in the next 12 hours.
Across the state, light to moderate rain or thunder showers are very likely to occur at most places on Wednesday. However, very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in Kumuram Bheem Asifabad and heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Adilabad, Mancherial districts.
