Mancherial: Officials of a tribal welfare-run Ashram school drew sharp criticism for reportedly conducting a rally with students to welcome a Congress leader, who distributed fruits to the students in connection with the Milad-un-Nabi festival in Bellampalli on Wednesday. The incident came to light on Thursday.

The leader visited the school to distribute the fruits to mark the festival. The officials reportedly welcomed the leader by organising a massive rally using the students of the school to please him. They were criticised for holding the welcoming rally without taking permission from higher officials and preventing the media from covering the event.
